Kai Mang Da Talay, Horseshoe Crab's Roe

There are 2 types of Mang Da, one as a sea creature and the other as a common bug in rice fields. This one is the sea (Talay) version, Mang Da Talay. We eat the roe (green stuff inside the shell) of this with Yum Ma-muang, Raw Mango Salad.

The taste? Yummmy!! It's just like any roe, but when adding to Yum Ma-muang it's a new dimension of the spicy mango salad really, really.







Warning: There's the other creature called Hay-Ra that looks really similar to this Mang Da, except that Hay Ra is poisonous, deadly. So get one from the restaurants you can trust!
